Of
coral origins and with reliefs not higher than 400 mt., the island offers
365 magnificent beaches. Situated 17° north of the Equator, Antigua
is 14 miles long, 10 miles wide and its surface area is 108square miles.
In the island and in particular to the south-west, it preserves beautiful
tropical landscapes with many plant species typical of rainforests. The
island is visited by sailors from all over the world that meet in the English
Harbour port, the navy base of Admiral Nelson and the British Navy. For
the most sociable we mention the capital, St.John which, in addition to
suggestive colonial buildings, offers a lively nightlife among excellent
restaurants, shops and the casinò.
